Why should I join?

Studying these connected subjects with the same cohort allows you to build community while strengthening connections between ideas and assignments across classes. In discussion-based courses with a small, collaborative group, you will:

  • Explore big questions about democracy, ethics and public discourse.
  • Build strong evidence-based arguments.
  • Connect ideas across subjects and apply them in multiple classes.
  • Strengthen your writing, speaking and analytical skills.
  • Develop relationships with faculty and fellow students in a smaller learning community.

Who can join?

This cohort is open to students who have already earned credit for ENGL 101 and still need to complete the Carolina Core requirements listed above.
