Abstract:
Research in physics has become increasingly specialized and technically sophisticated, creating both opportunities and challenges for interdisciplinary innovation. In this talk, I will begin with my research in ultrafast materials science before describing my recent efforts to bring physics-inspired perspectives, quantitative thinking, and experimental approaches into vastly different research areas. In particular, I will discuss interdisciplinary projects that apply physical principles to reveal and understand hidden behavioral patterns and biofeedback in human subjects. Finally, I will reflect on the serendipitous journey of idea generation and team building behind these endeavors, where curiosity-driven observations often serve as the seeds for new directions, and interdisciplinary collaborations gradually nurture them into potentially impactful applications.
