Associate/Assistant Graduate Deans Council

The Associate/Assistant Graduate Deans Council is a self-organized committee that provides a forum for the deans of graduate academic programs to discuss common issues, to make recommendations concerning graduate academic affairs to the University administration and appropriate faculty committees, and to respond to proposals related to graduate academic affairs submitted by members of the University community. 

About the Council

Members

Membership includes the associate and assistant deans of the various colleges and schools who have direct responsibility for managing graduate academic programs and the dean of the Graduate School. Consulting offices include, but are not limited to, offices of the Provost, Registrar, Bursar, Payroll and Human Resources.

Meetings

The committee meets four times per semester.

The Council's Role

  • Discuss issues common to graduate education and support of graduate students
  • Make recommendations to Ann Vail, Dean of the Graduate School
  • Respond to proposals for new policies, regulations and programming
