
Judicial Observation and Experience (JOE) Program
The Judicial Observation and Experience (JOE) Program places students for up to two weeks in the summer with members of South Carolina’s state judiciary and federal judges.
Due to inclement weather, the University of South Carolina’s Columbia campus will open under a delayed start at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes beginning before 11 a.m. on Monday are canceled. For more information: sc.edu/weather
The Center sponsors mentoring and judicial observation programs to promote professionalism among law students, and was a founding member of the National Legal Mentoring Consortium.

The Judicial Observation and Experience (JOE) Program places students for up to two weeks in the summer with members of South Carolina’s state judiciary and federal judges.

The Center was a founding member of the National Legal Mentoring Consortium and hosted the first NLMC conference in 2008. The consortium has since grown to 60 members and hosts a national conference every two years.
