2025-26 All-State Double Reed Days — Off Campus and FREE!
This year, we are bringing SC All-State Double Reed Day to you!
Oboists and bassoonists in grades 6 through 12 are welcome to join Professor Hassan
Anderson, Professor Mike Harley, and members of the University of South Carolina double
reed studios in special sessions hosted by SC high schools. Students and music directors
from any school district, both in-state and out-of-state, may attend any of these
dates, and as many of these days as they wish. We hope you find one on a date and
in a location that works for you!
Each all-state day will include:
- A short, informal recital by Prof. Anderson, Prof. Harley, and members of the USC oboe and bassoon studios
- Masterclasses on this year’s all-state etudes and audition preparation
Fundamentals / topical workshop - Reed adjustment and a limited number of reeds for sale
- A group play-along to to end the day!
- Depending on the number of students registered, we anticipate plenty of time for targeted, individual help
If you do wish to visit the beautiful University of South Carolina campus and School of Music, we encourage you to attend the USC Band Clinic, February 12-15, 2026. Additionally, you are welcome to contact Prof. Anderson or Prof. Harley to schedule an individual visit and lesson.
