Whether you’re a music major looking to deepen your performance experience or a non-music major interested in exploring your musical passions, the USC School of Music provides a wealth of opportunities to perform in ensembles of all types and sizes.

A chamber music ensemble gives you the experience and joy of collaborating with your peers under the guidance of our renowned faculty. There are opportunities for students of brass, piano, percussion, strings, voice and woodwinds.

Choral

Choirs of Carolina choral ensembles include the Concert Choir, University Chorus, Carolina Alive Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Graduate Vocal Ensemble, Gamecock Chorale and Garnet Chorale.

Jazz

Jazz ensemble participation is open to all USC students by audition, including nonmusic majors. Performance opportunities include playing with the Left Bank Big Band, Traditional Jazz Combos, The Jazz String Ensemble and Carolina Alive.

Opera

Opera at USC presents two fully staged operas with orchestra each year and an evening of One-Act Operas, often with a graduate stage director. Roles are open to undergraduates and graduates.

The USC Symphony Orchestra, Campus Orchestra, and Opera Orchestra offer unparalleled opportunities for students to perform under the direction of distinguished conductors and collaborate with renowned guest artists.

Percussion

From classic repertoire to groundbreaking contemporary works, the USC Percussion Ensemble highlights the full range of percussion performance. The Palmetto Pans Steel Band brings the rich sounds and rhythms of Trinidad and Tobago to the stage. Percussion Players provides underclassmen and non-music majors with an engaging ensemble experience, led and coached by graduate students from the Percussion Studio.
